Course review:
This course deals with the skills needed to safely and efficiently fell and convert trees from 15" diameter upwards. A prerequisite is NPTC CS31.
The methods taught include letterboxing and ketholing, diamiters greater than 1 1/2 times the guide bar and less than 1 1/2 times guide bar length.
The use of hand operated winches to deal with hung up trees and to staberlise crowns during de-limbing operations.
Many of the required skills require a good standard of chainsaw operation and candidates will need to utilse equipment they would have not used during CS31.
It will prepair candidates for a seperate NPTC Assessment.
