It also addresses the practical and political implications of this change for contemporary visual media production and analyses the specificity of visual media forms.

WHY CHOOSE THIS COURSE?
The course is taught by a team of enthusiastic specialists in the field of visual media and culture.
Staff will provide an introduction to theoretical perspectives and debates in a friendly and stimulating setting.
You will be encouraged to make practical, critical and creative use of digital media (e.g. blogging, video, imaging etc.) as part of your assignments.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?In order to critically and creatively operate in a visual media dominated world it is vital to develop the conceptual tools that are necessary for analysing visual representations – the codes, meanings, visual languages and genres framing our visually dominated media culture.
By choosing specialist modules and by undertaking a research project, you will engage with cutting-edge ideas, rigorous methods and theoretical frameworks.
Through this approach an expertise is developed in the texts and artefacts of diverse film traditions, television, advertising, photography and digital visual media and cultures.
