Course programme

After receiving the Brushstroke and ITEC Qualification on the previous Two Year Film Academy Course, students have the option to retutn for a third year's training which contains a required amount of hours of training to gain an additional certificate.

This third year course covers body painting, fantasy hair and make up, characterisation and theory - including research projects, mood boards and a final dissertation. Terms 1 and 2 will be spent learning make up and hair techniques and working towards their final Term 3 which will be spent putting together their final showcase.

Students will be given a schedule of the evidence and work requirements that will be expected from them at the end of term 3. This is a plan of the different categories of make up and hair that they can chose from to produce as a final piece on 1/2 models and a research project, incorporating all photographs and details of their final piece and how it was achieved.

Students must work towards producing evidence in a portfolio, by obtaining pictures, samples of make up and hair and produce a 2000 word essay. (For those with dyslexia or any reading/writing difficulties, an oral examination can be arranged)

Students throughout Term 3 can use the previous months to accumulate evidence for their portfolio; they must follow their designs, colour, shapes and costume. Before and after shots of your chosen model will be required, these will be seen by your course tutor before final make up and hair work. Your final presentation will be performed by your models in front of an examining board.

Each student must submit their own character and there must be a selection of various make up techniques on show. All students must work together as a team to put this show on.
