Film Studies Course Information
Film Studies AS / A2 will give students the opportunity to learn how to both analyse and make films as well as studying the institutions that produce them.

What will I study on this course?
On this course you will study:

• Aspects of film form
• The film industry in both the UK and US
• Issues of representation in film
• World cinema
• Documentary film making

How is this course assessed?
This course is assessed through both examinations (55%) and coursework (45%). The coursework section involves written work and practical work at both levels.

What kind of student will do well on this course?
You will enjoy this course if you would like to:

• Analyse and discuss films in detail
• Make your own short films
• Learn more about how the film industry works
• Find out about different styles of film making
