This course covers bank accounts for a business and their operation, accounting periods and year ends, invoice and expenditure documentation, organisation of filing and retention of records, how to maintain simple accounting records, how to perform bank reconciliations, types and treatment of expenses, including vehicles, and use of home as office and petty cash, set up and start-up costs, introduction to VAT, income tax and national insurance, an overview of final accounts, budgeting and cash flow forecasting and providing guidance on credit control, management and costing.
