The course has three modules:
- Why Money Matters
- Risk and Reward
- Making Personal Financial Judgements
Qualification Aims
The Certificate in Financial Studies (CeFS) has been designed to encourage individuals to be inspired to meet their lifetime aspirations. This will be achieved by teaching them to apply the appropriate solution(s) from the wide range available within the evolving financial services marketplace. The qualification will enable students to make informed and confident decisions regarding their finances.
Assessments/Examinations
The three units of the Certificate in Financial Studies have different assessment structures, as described below.
Both unit 1 & 2 are objectively tested.
Unit 1 - the 50 questions comprise 50 standalone multiple-choice questions.
Unit 2 - the 35 questions comprise 5 standalone multiple-choice questions and six case studies each with five associated questions.
The unit 3 examination is a written paper based on case study material; students are required to answer 1 four part question from a choice of 2.
Cost / Equipment
Students over 19 may be required to pay tuition fees and examination fees for students over 19 at the start of the course may also be payable.
