Fire Safety and Awareness, Fire Training
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 strict new regulations
have been introduced which applies to non-domestic premises throughout
England and Wales. It places a direct responsibility on owners/guardians
of buildings to comply with regards to Risk Assessments, Training and the
recording of both.
All staff should recieve fire training to
ensure they are aware of the location of fire fighting equipment,
identification and usage together with safe egress from the workplace.
Local
Fire Authorities now have the right to inspect premises to ensure the
Order is in full compliance; they have the right to inspect all Risk
Assessments and other administration in regard to the fire safety of your
premises.
Failure to comply may result in formal HSE involvement,
Enforcement orders, a significant fine or up to 2 years imprisonment.
Medrock
Training can deliver on-site Fire Awareness training by experienced
firefighters for your staff. We can also carry out a Risk Assessment of
your premises in relation to the Order checking appropriate signage and
Extinguishers and offer advice and remedial action.
