Course Title: First Aid

Overview:

The course will benefit all carers who work within residential and
domiciliary environments.

This course will give a basic understanding of First Aid, what it is
and why it is so important. It will provide a basic understanding
of how the respiratory and circulatory system work.

Course Content:

The course covers:

• Legislation and responsibilities
• Assessment of casualty
• Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation/mouth to mouth
• Recognise and treat serious injuries
• Evaluate miscellaneous illnesses and conditions

Methods Used:

• Demonstration
• Practice/CPR/Recovery Position/Bandaging/Slings
• Video
• Discussions
• Questionnaires

Venue:

• Learners Workplace
• Venue to be Agreed

Course Duration: Half a day

Certificate:

At the end of the session, learners will be issued with a Certificate of Attendance which can be referenced to the Health and Social Care NVQ's.
