In order to take part in our Qualsafe Awards Accredited Courses, one has to be 16 years of age. But children much younger than that are quite capable of applying First Aid and to help others. As a matter of fact, children as young as 3 have saved their parents’ lives by staying calm and calling an ambulance!

About this course
We have decided to start teaching small groups of Children and Young People the very basics of First Aid.
According to the Resuscitation Council UK, and the European Resuscitation Council, all school children should be taught how to perform CPR.
Children and Young People under the age of 16.
No previous experience with first aid is required.
Parent/carers will need to stay with the youngsters at all times.
These sessions do not lead to a qualification. However, we can give participants an in-house certificate.
Where else can Children and Young People learn first aid (outside of sessions at school if the school has been lucky to have been chosen by a charity that gives first aid training). All the official courses are geared towards those of 16 years and older.
We will ring or email you back with the information your require.
The sessions are roughly divided into two groups. The first group is meant for Key Stage 1 & 2 children and costs £5 per child, and second one for Key Stages 2 & 3, costing £7.50 per child/young person.
The exact group that is suitable for your child will depend on their age and ability, and also on other children you may have (for instance, if you have one child age 9 and another aged 11, you might prefer both children to attend the same session - the first one; if you have one child aged 11 and one 14, you might prefer to put them both in the second group).
As for which group you'd like to put them in, see my answer to 'which session should I book my child in for'.
As for cost, if you cannot afford the full fee for both (or more) of your children, talk to us and we will give you a discount.

Course programme
During February Half Term, we will be running some sessions for small groups of children and young people to learn the basics of First Aid.
We will be dividing them into two groups. The younger children (Key Stage 1-2) will be introduced to Calling for Helpan Unconscious Casualty, and the Recovery Position. The older children and young people (Key Stages 2-3) will cover all that, but will also be introduced to and practicing CPR.
A responsible adult will need to stay with their youngster at all times.

Talk to us for dates, costs and more information. It definitely won't cost up to £100, that just the only choice eMagister is giving us...
