Manage emergency situations, safety and promptly. Use First Aid equipment. Understand the duties of employers and the legal framework. Maintain simple factual records. Recognise the importance of personal hygiene in First Aid procedures. Manage the transportation of the casualty as required. Recognise and manage a range of major injuries and illnesses. Recognise and manage a range of minor injuries and illnesses. Perform effective Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation. Suitable for: The selection of employees who will be trained as First Aiders must consider an individual's: Reliability, disposition and communication skills. Aptitude and ability to absorb new knowledge and learn new skills. Ability to cope with stressful and physically demanding emergency procedures. That they could leave their duties immediately to respond to an emergency in the workplace

What's this course for?
The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, place a general duty on employers to ensure that there is adequate First Aid provision for their employees should they become ill or suffer injury at work. This course is designed to meet these requirements.
What's in the syllabus?
This course involves a minimum for 24 hours contact teaching time and is normally run over four consecutive days. Students will be trained in the procedures, safety requirements and management skills for First Aid.

Yes
The course is externally assessed which consists of:
- Practical CPR assessment and casualty management skills
- First Aid scenarios
- Theory test (multiple choice question paper)
