First Diploma in Business Management Level 2

Course Aims:
To provide students with a practical work-related course that will introduce them to particular areas of employment. The course provides students with a good base for further study in a related subject.

Course Content:
You will study a range of six modules including:
Three Core Units - Introduction to Business Activity, Exploring Key Business Pressures and Investigating Financial Control.
There are also a further three specialist units to be studied and these could include:
Business Communications
Employee Contribution to Working Conditions
Sales and Customer Service
Starting up a New Business
All students will study key skills Maths,English and IT if not already qualified to GCSE grade C or equivalent.

Progression:
Southport College also offers BTEC National Certificate in Business Management or National Diploma with a Merit at First Diploma.
Employment in a related sector.

Awarding Body:
Edexcel

Exam:
Students' work is continually assessed throughout the year, the assignments being a mixture of presentations, case studies and projects, which will be based on realistic workplace situations.
Students build up a portfolio of evidence.

BTEC First Diploma in Business

As a curriculum area we try to enhance your experience whilst at college, and we offer educational visits and invite guest speakers into college all of which can benefit your time here. We do try to keep costs down but please note that there will be requests for contributions to visits.

One year full-time
