FIRST DIPLOMA IN ENGINEERING
Entry Requirements
4 GCSEs at grade D including Maths, Science and
English. The following may also be acceptable:
- PEO NVQ level 2

Registration requirements:
Registration
with the Business and Technology Education Council (BTEC) awarding body is
required by those who wish to obtain the qualification. You may register
at the college during enrolment.
Description
This one year
day release course aims to equip new and existing personnel working in
Mechanical or Electronic Engineering with the necessary skills required at
level 2.
It supports underpinning knowledge for National Vocational
Qualifications at level 2 and is a recognised Technical Certificate for
Foundation Apprenticeships (level 2). The course offers progression to the
National Certificate and is a recognised means of career progression with
the engineering industry.

Method of Assessment
Continual assessment
methods are used, these include assignments, project work and tests with
one unit assessed through an Integrated Vocational Assignment.
