About this course
A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade E or above (including Maths and English) NVQ1 or Introductory Diploma in IT.

Who is the course for?
This course will appeal to those who wish to become an IT Technician. You will learn how PCs are built, repaired and upgraded. You will also learn how to install software, design websites and produce basic programs in Visual Basic.
What is the course about?

Will I need anything else?
No specialist equipment is required, but it is recommended that you have a pendrive.
How long & often do I attend?
This is a one year course. Students spend at least three days a week training in college.
How will I be assessed?
You will be expected to complete a portfolio throughout the year, which will provide evidence that you have the occupational competence to gain employment in the industry. The evidence will show competence in a variety of work activities and the knowledge, which supports the practical skills. Successful candidates will be awarded the National Vocational Qualification Level 2 for ICT Practitioners.
What opportunities will this lead to?
On successful completion of the course the student will be qualified to take employment in a junior IT Technician role. If the student wishes to remain in education the College offers a Level 3 BND ICT Practitioners (Systems Support) course which allows the student to gain employment or progress to University.
