Course Overview
This course aims to provide an understanding of the following areas in first line management:

  • Solving problems & decision making
  • Giving briefings & making presentations
  • Time Management
  • Team Building


Course Structure
The course is delivered in a flexible format, but generally involves attendance at 5 one day workshops, from 9.30am to 4.30pm, over a period of 5 weeks. A compulsory half day session on team building and evaluation will be held approximately 4-6 weeks later.

Qualification Aims
The ILM Level 3 Award in First Line Management aims to give practising or potential first line managers the foundation for their formal development in this role. The qualification does this by developing the basic management skills and assisting participants in gaining the basic knowledge required by the First Line Manager.

Assessments/Examinations
Assessment is through completion of reflective reviews, a presentation and a work-based assignment that relate to the sessions attended.
