  • Fitness instructors

Aims:

  • To identify factors that affect physical performance in golf through effective assessment and history taking
  • To be able to analyse a golf swing through observation and use of audio visual technology
  • To promote clinical reasoning and problem solving in golf conditioning, reconditioning and rehabilitation
  • Apply knowledge of kinesiology and biomechanics to physical analysis of golf swing
  • To prescribe exercises, drills, ergonomics and life style changes to meet demands of high performance golfers
  • To be able to interact with the golfer through sound knowledge of the golf swing
  • The aims of the sessions can be adapted to suit the audience and their particular needs and level of knowledge concerning the golf swing

Additional aims may include:

  • Use of manual therapy techniques in golf
  • Promoting the golfer to use a personal portfolio
  • Setting up in practice
  • Importance of diet, hydration, periodisation, mental preparation and correct warm up etc
  • Researching golf and the field of golf science
  • Anatomy and physiology relating to golf conditioning and performance

Structure of programs:

  • Part theory and part practical
  • Emphasis is generally on the practical components
