Aims:
- To identify factors that affect physical performance in golf through effective assessment and history taking
- To be able to analyse a golf swing through observation and use of audio visual technology
- To promote clinical reasoning and problem solving in golf conditioning, reconditioning and rehabilitation
- Apply knowledge of kinesiology and biomechanics to physical analysis of golf swing
- To prescribe exercises, drills, ergonomics and life style changes to meet demands of high performance golfers
- To be able to interact with the golfer through sound knowledge of the golf swing
- The aims of the sessions can be adapted to suit the audience and their particular needs and level of knowledge concerning the golf swing
Additional aims may include:
- Use of manual therapy techniques in golf
- Promoting the golfer to use a personal portfolio
- Setting up in practice
- Importance of diet, hydration, periodisation, mental preparation and correct warm up etc
- Researching golf and the field of golf science
- Anatomy and physiology relating to golf conditioning and performance
Structure of programs:
- Part theory and part practical
- Emphasis is generally on the practical components
