This course is designed for those with a keen interest in working in the leisure industry in sport, fitness instructing and coaching. The course comprises of the following topics:

• Exercise and Fitness Knowledge;
• Fitness Instructing - Gym;
• Health and Safety;
• Organising and delivering a sports activity session;
• Structure of sport at local, regional and national levels;
• Understand and lead fitness sessions;
• Principles and practices in running sporting events and competitions;
• Planning sporting activites
• Leadership skills in the community
• Aquatic rescue
• The Pool Lifeguard
• Key Skills
• Sports Academy
• First Aid.

Progression:
Entry Requirements:
First Diploma in Sport or 4 GCSE's or Introductory Diploma. ­­Students should have an active commitment to sport and an interview will be required.

Sports Leaders UK - Level 2 Award in Community Sports Leadership.

STA Level 2 Certificate for the National Rescue Standard Full time for 1 year
