Course Content: The award qualifies the individual to work as a fitness instructor in a gym environment. It prepares instructors to induct clients onto gym equipment and to plan and supervise their workouts. The Certificate in Fitness instructing comprises 2 mandatory units for option group A, plus/either the single unit form optional group B or if optional group B is chosen this will give rise to a qualification entitled Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (Gym).

· Instructing gym based exercise

Progression: The qualification will enable a successful learner to gain employment but also to be able to go to further qualifications such as Level 3 Certificate in Advanced Instructor, Sports Massage and Sport Therapy. VTCTs aim is to make all our qualifications as transferable as possible across our whole suite. The qualification will also enable successful learners to join the REPS register at Level 2.
