The course aims to discuss on following aspects:-
1. Health and Safety and Infection Control.
2. Medical Emergencies.
3. Legal and Ethical Issues relating to fluoride Application.
4. Communication.
5. Patient Care and Management.
6. Oral Disease.
7. Dental Materials.
8. Preventative Dentistry.
The course also incorporates a Portfolio of Competence and therefore nurses must have access to 5 patients aged 4-6 years old, 5 patients aged 7-12 years old and 5 patients aged 13 and above.

About this course
By the end of the course dental nurses will be able to:
Be competent in the safe selection and dosage of topical fluoride and have the knowledge of how to deal with an acute overdose of fluoride vanish
Be familiar with the aetiology of dental disease and the principles of prevention
Demonstrate competency in safely applying fluoride through completion of a portfolio of experience
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding through set assignments.
GDC Registered Dental Nurses assisting their dentist in the application of fluoride application
