Course programme

In order to achieve a full apprenticeship you must successfully complete the different parts of the framework over 12 to 14 months. This consists of sector related industry qualifications. Diploma in Food and Beverage service Level 2 Maintain a safe, hygienic and secure working environment Work effectively as part of a hospitality team Give customers a positive impression of self and your organisation Maintain food safety when storing, holding and serving food SECTION A FOOD SERVICE OPTIONAL UNITS Provide a counter and takeaway service Serve food at the table Provide a silver service Provide a buffet and carvery service SECTION B BEVERAGE SERVICE OPTIONAL UNITS Serve alcoholic and soft drinks Prepare and serve cocktails Prepare and serve wines Prepare and serve dispensed and instant hot drinks Prepare and serve hot drinks using specialist equipment SECTION C OPTIONAL UNITS Prepare and clear areas for counter and takeaway service Prepare and clear areas for table service Prepare and clear the bar area Maintain cellars and kegs Clean drinks dispense lines Receive, store and issue drinks stock Resolve customer service problems Promote additional services or products to customers Deal with customers across a language divide Maintain customer service through effective handover Maintain and deal with payments The Optional units are chosen by the employer to reflect your job role Level 2 Certificate in Hospitality and catering Principles Functional Skills qualifications Level 2 Functional Skill in English Level 2 Functional Skill in Maths Employment Rights and Responsibilities Personal Learning and Thinking Skills Apprenticeships give you the opportunity to work for a real employer, earn a real salary and gain a real qualification whilst gaining valuable workplace skills and experience.
