The Food and Drink Service VQ is for operational team members who's daily tasks is to serve guests.
The qualification looks at the Health and Safety aspect of the working environment, which has become more and more important over the years. There are also units on creating and maintaining good working relations and Customer Care.
Being prepared for your daily tasks and leaving your work environment how you find it at the end of the day makes for a successful working team.
There are various units you can then choose to focus on and these will be dependent on your work environment, these include providing a table service, providing a Carvery/Buffet. They also include Provide and serve bottled wines, hot drinks.
The qualification will also look at dealing with payments and maintaining the payment point if this is part of your normal duties.
