Programme overview Forensic scientists examine a wide variety of materials to solve crime and most of those materials - soil, water, minerals or paint pigments - have a geological origin. New developments in techniques for determining the origin of these materials are making the science of detection much more precise. This certificate is ideal for students wishing to advance their knowledge of these exciting developments, but is also suitable for those with little or no experience. This course is offered part-time at Birkbeck's central London campus, or you can study it by distance learning, wherever you are in the world. There are also optional field-trips.
