If you are interested in finding out about land use, the environment and conservation, then this is the course for you. A career in the countryside involves variety, flexibility and responsibility, leading to tremendous job satisfaction.

About the course
This is a practical course for people with little or no experience in agriculture or countryside/conservation work, or who need to improve their confidence or their reading and writing skills before moving on to another course.

  • Investigating land, environment and woodland management
  • Practical skills, eg: Stock-handling, tractor driving, fence building, hedge planting
  • Preparing for work
  • Functional skills in Maths, English or ICT
