A Level
A Foundation Apprenticeship is a work based learning programme where the learner is 'earning while learning'. The programme is aimed at learners over the age of 16. The Apprentice will be employed and receive at least the minimum apprenticeship wage. The Apprentice will attend college on a block release basis every other week and should achieve the Level 2 Apprenticeship Framework within the agreed timescale.

Entry requirements for the Level 2 Foundation Apprenticeship in Landbased Engineering, students must complete a one year Level 2 full time course, and practical work experience that will help learners understand the sector prior to starting. These programmes are part financed by the European Social Fund through the Welsh Government

Course programme
- All learners will be supported by a Training Adviser/Assessor who will monitor progress towards achieving targets on a regular basis
- The Training Adviser/Assessor will liaise closely with the employer to ensure that qualifications are achieved within timescale
- The Training Adviser/Assessor will assess the Apprentice in the workplace as and when required
Learners who have successfully completed this Foundation Apprenticeship can progress onto an Apprenticeship at Level 3.
