About this Course . . Our Foundation Diploma is validated by the University of the Arts, London. This means that your qualification will be awarded by UAL (which includes the prestigious colleges of Central St Martins, London College of Fashion, Chelsea College of Art and Design, Wimbledon College of Art and Camberwell College of Arts).The Foundation Studies course is a contemporary, creative, innovative and challenging preparatory course designed to provide students with hands on experience across Art, Design and Media. Students are encouraged to discover and develop their creative strengths. All students explore a wide range of cross-disciplinary workshops in Fine Art, Photography, Film, Animation and Sound, Graphic Art and Design, Illustration, Fashion, Textiles and 3D before focusing on their preferred areas of study. All of the staff team are practising artists and designers.

Additional information

Individual offers may vary. Applicants should generally meet one of the following minimum entry requirements:

  • At least 1 A2 Level pass supported by at least 3 GCSEs grades A* to C including English (IELTS level 5.5) or Maths (minimum D in both English and Maths)
  • Equivalent vocational qualification (eg ND Art & Design) including Functional Skills requirements.


    Normally, qualifications should include an Art, Design or Media subject.

    Qualifications can be waived for mature applicants with evidence of creative artwork


Interview and portfolio: The portfolio should contain examples of work that demonstrate interests and ability to communicate ideas using a range of materials.
