Course Description
The Foundation Year provides an opportunity for people who want to study at university but do not have the required entry qualifications. You may have studied the wrong subjects at school or, perhaps, you have taken a job after leaving school but now wish to continue with your education.
Foundation studies are flexible and allow learners to become familiar with the organisation and demands of university life. They allow you to prepare for a specific degree or to tailor what you study to your own interests and career aspirations.
At the beginning of the Foundation Year, you will be attached to the BSc Human Biology within the School of Applied Sciences, University of Glamorgan and throughout the year you will be regarded as studying on YEAR 0 of a 4-year degree. However, following this first year, transfer to Adult Nursing or Midwifery (after meeting certain criteria and a successful interview) is an option.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU MAKE THIS CLEAR WHEN APPLYING FOR FINANCIAL SUPPORT
The Foundation Year will provide an ideal pathway into higher education for many of the learners that wish to study at Neath Port Talbot College.
