The Costume Construction course at Coleg y Cymoedd is delivered in partnership with the University of South Wales and is taught at the Nantgarw Campus. While learners will study at Nantgarw, they may choose to live in University accommodation and also use facilities available for university students.


This 2-3 years course introduces you to costume construction within the areas of film and theatre. There are excellent links with the industry providing opportunities to work as part of a production team in the role of the costume maker. The course will prepare you with the necessary skills to become a specialist in the field.


180 UCAS points at Level 3, for example 2 A Levels or a Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma. Relevant vocational or industrial experience will be taken into consideration. Entry to the final/top up year for the BA (Hons) will be on successful completion of the Foundation Degree or an equivalent qualification in a related subject. Additionally, you may be asked to attend an interview, take part in a workshop session, or present a portfolio of work as part of the selection process. Application for the BA (Hons) should be done through the UCAS site using code W453.


Those without such qualifications are considered on an individual basis and a wide range of prior experience may be taken into account. All applicants will receive a portfolio-based interview.
