The Programme
The course develops skills and ideas within fine art, study includes practical and theoretical work embracing individual and group activities. A body of work prepared at each stage forms the core of assessed material, this is supplemented by written documentation, peer cooperation and presentations made by the students.
The Programme Content
We begin with an introduction that explores what fine art is in the twenty first century, starting with traditional modes of expression like painting, then progressing to ideas about installation and time based media. Briefs given to you, or devised by you, encourage you to look at many ways of working; together with developing themes that you wish to explore through fine art. Underpinning this practical work we look at twentieth and twenty first century fine art examples and explore a breadth of professional guidelines designed to help you function as an artist in the wider world including working in the public domain.
