During this course you will study a variety of different modules: Level Four modules: Developing Academic and Communication skills Promoting Health in Social Care Settings Learning about Practice through Reflection Understanding Inequalities in Health and Social Care Contextualising Health & Social Care Policy Understanding Physical Health and Health Issues Level Five modules: Leadership and Management Understanding Emotional Health and Well-being Contemporary Social Policy for Children and Adults Learn about Services through Work Experience Evaluating Research Planning care in the legal and ethical context

What skills will I gain? By studying this course you will: Develop your understanding of how the health and social care sector works Develop an appreciation for professional practice and recognition of the theoretical underpinnings of practice, including management and leadership Examine the ideological, political, legal and administrative base of health and social care policy Investigate influences on health in the community and the individual, including 'social problems' and health promotion Examine emotional well being and social organisation, drawing upon medical, psychological and sociological explanations of emotional health Investigate human structure and function to understand common measurements of physical aspects of health Develop your confidence in reflective practice and the methodology required to analyse and learn from critical incidents Improve your fundamental study skills How will I be assessed? You will be continually assessed throughout the programme using a variety of methods including: traditional techniques such as essays, reports, and examinations. What can I do next? The course provides a combination of work based skills, academic knowledge and professional development. The programme is delivered in conjunction with the University of Wolverhampton and successful completion can be followed by a one year course leading to an Honours Degree in Health Studies or Social Care/Social Policy. The skills you will learn from this course may enable you to pursue a career in: Residential or Community Care Health promotion Teaching Health & Social Care Criminal Justice Services Victim Support Child and Adult Protector
