Course Content: Modules include: Academic Study Skills Human Resource Management for Service Industries Hospitality Operations Delivering the Customer Experience The Hospitality Sector Finance in the Service Industries Research Skills Hospitality Facilities Management Planning and Leading Hospitality Operations Supervising the Customer Experience Marketing in the Service Industries Business Development How will I be assessed? The assessment methods in the FdA International Hospitality Management programme include assignments, practical assessments, individual and group presentations, online assessments and research projects, along with the assessment of work-based learning to reflect the type of student and nature of the industry that they are entering. Formative and summative assessments have been designed to ensure that students can demonstrate the skills, knowledge and understanding required by industry. Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required? You will need to purchase a Front of House uniform at the start of the course at a cost of £100. Trips will also be undertaken on an optional basis. A reasonable payment of £150 will be required if you wish to participate in these. What can I do after this course? The knowledge and skills developed through this programme will provide students with opportunities to progress in a range of exciting careers in the hospitality and associated industries. Careers could be in supervisory or junior management roles within hotels, restaurants, licensed retailing, contract catering, meetings and events venues and cruise ships. Upon completion of the programme with a Merit profile, successful students can apply to progress to the final year of the BA (Hons) International Hospitality Management.
