There is a growing demand for trained Learning Support Practitioners with higher level qualifications. This course is franchised from the University of South Wales and is designed for people who want to work in primary schools, secondary schools and further education colleges providing learning support.
It gives learners an opportunity to extend their knowledge, reflect on practice, and take a step into higher education. It is an academic, vocational course in which work-based learning is an integral component.
You will require either 1 A Level and 3 GCSE passes with grade A*- C in English or equivalent desirable, or an Access Certificate, CACHE Diploma in Childcare; or BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Early Years or Social Care. Accreditation of Prior Achievement (qualifications or experience) may provide exemptions against certain elements of the programme of study.
You will be invited into the College for an information session, written assessment and interview. The written assessment will need to demonstrate your ability to write at a higher level standard. You will need to be employed professionally or voluntarily in a suitable education setting for at least 12 hours per week.
