Entry requirements
We welcome applications from all age groups. Prospective students must usually fulfil the University of Hull’s matriculation requirements, but we are keen to take into account your life experiences as well as professional qualifications and awards you may have. We therefore do not ask for specific qualifications but are looking instead for motivation, experience in learning support and evidence that you will be able to succeed in study at degree level.
Use the application form to give details of your work experience in learning support (paid or voluntary), your reflection on what you have learnt and any qualifications you have taken: each application will be considered on its own merit. You need to feel confident that you can meet the demands of an undergraduate programme including the ability to write extended essays and reports. If you have any doubts you can arrange for an advisory interview with the Curriculum Leader prior to applications. You must include a letter of support from your setting with your application form.
Note: Although we do not require maths, English language or science GCSEs for acceptance onto the Foundation Degree, it is important to remember that you may need such qualifications if you wish to move into teaching after this programme. It is also advisable to develop some level of IT skills prior to starting the programme to support the online learning on the course.
