Be part of the infrastructure of civil justice and help to realise social justice through a career in Legal Services. Yorkshire and the Humber is the third largest employer of the Legal Advice workforce in England and Wales. The Legal Advice sector has an ageing workforce, with only 36% of the workforce holding vocational/professional qualifications or accreditation relating to giving legal advice. In a recent survey those working in Legal Services sited �Interesting work� and �The feeling of doing something worthwhile� as the most important factors in their career choice. If that sounds like you�read on. The objectives of the programme include the development of transferable skills and knowledge, which will enable learners to contribute and develop their full potential. They will acquire specialist knowledge within a framework that is integrated with work based study. The structure enables the learner to follow an embedded ILEX pathway, gaining professional qualification to support their academic studies. It contains the following modules: Introduction to Law and Practice, Contract Law, Criminal Law, Family Welfare, Civil Litigation, Law of Tort, Employment Law and Land Law. Complementing these modules are Personal Development Planning and Work Based Learning (or a Personal Project). These modules will help determine the nature and direction of the learners' work and identify areas of interest which will be explored through subsequent modules. The programme is two years full time or three or four years part time.
