Operational Navigation. Cargo Operations.
Management Studies. Navigational Sciences.

Phase 2
Sea service training and completion of Marine Operations Work Based Learning and tasks in the MNTB* Training Record Book at sea (& leave) â€" 28 weeks

**MCA Maritime Coastguard Agency

Course structure:
The duration is 3 years.

Entry requirements:
a) At least 120 points on the UCAS tariff in unspecified subjects, of which at least 80 points have been achieved in a single award and GCSEs in Mathematics and Science at Grade B.
b) Other qualifications at the discretion of the centre.

MCA OOW Certificate of Competency

Progression opportunities:
Further periods of sea service and study lead to the award of the MCA Chief Mate Certificate of Competence qualifying the holder to serve as Master of a merchant vessel.

Successful completion of the Foundation Degree in Marine Operations gives entry into a maritime BSc/BSc(Hons)programme if this option is required.
