Foundation Degree Organisational Leadership Overview Any
successful organisation or venture usually has a highly effective and
inspirational leader at its helm. If you have a desire to make a
difference in your organisation, to bring out the best in individuals and
teams and inspire them to maximise their performance, then this course
could be for you.
Description During the programme you
will study and explore the fundamentals of the key management functions in
organisations, with a specific emphasis placed on leadership, relationship
management, change and innovation.
The course is ideal for people
who are already in leadership/management roles or those who aspire to
progress to this level in the future.
This programme is validated
by Leeds Metropolitan University.
How long is the course? Two
years. Day release and evening study options will be available subject to
demand.
How will I be assessed? Assessment methods are
varied and may include written reports, presentations, case studies,
individual/group projects and reflective statements. Where modules are
work-related, assessment will relate to your own organisation and/or
vocational setting.

What does the course lead to? This course is aimed at giving
you the skills, knowledge and confidence to seek promotion or pursue
leadership and management roles in any sector and any type of organisation.
What
can I go on to study? On successful completion of the foundation
degree, you will have achieved 240 CAT points and will be eligible to
progress to the BA (Hons) Business and Management top-up award (validated
by Leeds Metropolitan University) available at West Notts College.

Entry
Requirements All applicants will be invited to an interview to
discuss qualifications, experience and any other related issues.
To
study this course, you will be expected to have at least one of the
following:
o Full A Level and three GCSEs at grade C
o NVQ Level 3
in a related subject
o BTEC National Certificate/Diploma in a related
subject
o Other relevant Level 3 qualification
If you have relevant
work experience rather than qualifications, we will take this into
consideration at the interview.
Literacy and numeracy skills at Level 2
are essential. In some cases we do offer places on the course to students
who do not have Level 2 skills on condition they attend compulsory classes
at the beginning of term.
