Course Description

We live in a society that expresses itself through the use of visual image and this course prepares you to meet that challenge. You will look at the fundamentals of photography but will also nurture your artistic streak and the textures and vibrancy of the Dales will inspire you to experiment with colours.

Work experience and work related projects are important parts of this course. Your tutor will negotiate your work-based learning with you.

Assessment
Learning and assessment is through the development of knowledge acquisition, practical assignments,professional and research skills. Delivery methods include lectures, practical workshops, seminars, tutorials, work as well as web based learning.

Attendance Course Length and Study Pattern
Available as, full-time, part-time or as free-standing modules. Study will be on one or two days per week and some evenings, depending on mode of study.

Entry Requirement
Interview and portfolio plus one of the following:
100 UCAS Tariff Points from A Levels or equivalent (in a relevant subject)
Minimum age 18
Diploma in Foundation Studies in Art and Design
GCSE English Language at grade C or equivalent
Students with relevant HNCs may be able to transfer credit in certain modules onto the Foundation Degree.
Students without the necessary qualifications but with relevant work experience (and a good portfolio) are encouraged to apply.
