· Course Overview: · A foundation degree mainly designed for those already working in, or who intend to work in, the specialist area of Sports Coaching and Sports Performance Management. The impact that a sports coach has in the success of a team or individual is recognised as being critical, especially in playing its part in the British success at the Beijing Olympic Games. Performance management of an athlete, both as observation and analysis and physiological measurements, supports a performer to achieve to their utmost. Over the course of the programme, students will plan and manage their own individual career route through Personal Development Planning modules. In addition work-related learning modules to allow students to evaluate and develop their coaching and sports performance management. Where students are already in relevant employment Specialist core and elective modules include: Coaching Studies (2 modules) Introduction to Sports Nutrition Skill Development and Motor Control Principles of Physiology for Sports Performance Coaching Studies 2 Coaching Observation and Analysis Nutrition for Sports Performance (elective) Physiological Measurement and Evaluation of Sports Performance (elective) Strength and Conditioning (elective)

Entry Requirements: · This course is aimed at people already working in coaching or a sport related field.
