The University of Ulster awards the Foundation Degree and successful completion permits entry into the second year of related degree courses at university. The course is designed to prepare you for a construction career as a Built Environment professional. The Foundation Degree will allow you to progress to further academic study at degree/postgraduate level and/or to enhance your employment prospects by providing the analytical knowledge and organisational skills currently in demand within a modern construction industry. The Foundation Degree includes 400 hours of work placement in the second year of the course - providing candidates with an excellent opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge acquired into real life practice. (Placement is to be secured by the student in association with the college). Work Placement is assessed via employer input, the tutor; a written report and a presentation / interview.
