The Foundation Diploma will enable you to develop a broad understanding of sport and active leisure and its impact on the individual, economy and community.

The topics you will study include:

· Importance of an active and healthy lifestyle
· Importance of participation in sport and active leisure
· How the body works - introducing science in sport and exercise
· Introducing the sport and active leisure industry
· Working with customers in the sport and active leisure industry
· Working with specific populations in sport and active leisure.

The course will develop your personal learning, thinking skills and ability to work as part of a team. In addition to this the course you will develop your analytical, creative, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

During the course you will have the opportunity to achieve additional
qualifications in English, Maths and IT as well as industry relevant qualifications.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed continuously during the course through a range of assignments, investigations and practical assessments. You will also undertake work experience and complete a work-related project.
