The aim of this module is to provide you with basic research skills to enable you to access the evidence base and perform entry-level statistics.

It will allow you to learn about different research methodologies and be able to critique the literature.  You will also gain working knowledge of the principles underlying statistics and have an introductory knowledge of a specialist statistical software package (SPSS) and learn about qualitative methodology, analysis and be able to recognise techniques used in this type of research. A first degree in a medical/health or social sciences discipline is required (minimum 2:1 honours degree, 3.0 GPA or an equivalent international degree).Applicants with equivalent qualifications or substantial experience in health services will also be considered on an individual basis. English Requirements For those students whose first language is not English, the following qualification is also required:IELTS: 7.0Please note that due to changes in the UKVI's list of SELTs we are no longer able to accept TOEFL as evidence of English language for students who require a CAS as of April 2014.
