French AS and A2 I

The A Level French course promotes enthusiasm for the French language and culture. It will help you develop an understanding of the language in a variety of contexts and to communicate confidently and effectively in French.

You will develop an awareness and understanding of the contemporary society, cultural background and heritage of countries where French is spoken. You will consider the study of the language in a broader context preparing you to take their place in a multilingual global society

You will require 5 GCSEs at Grades A*- C including English Language, and grade B or above in French.

You will be invited to attend an interview, and will undertake an assessment in literacy and numeracy, to establish any support required.

AS topics include: Leisure & lifestyles (healthy living, travel, transport & tourism, sport, hobbies & entertainment, customs & traditions) and the individual and society (relationships & responsibilities, gender issues, youth culture, values, peers, fashions & trends, education & careers).
