Your Course
This course is suitable for those who have already studied French for 2 terms. Although the main focus of the course is the effective use of French in practical situations, students will also develop a fuller understanding of French Grammar. This will enable them to improve their proficiency in all 4 skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing in the foreign language.
The BBC course book'The French Experience 1'will be used as a focus but will be supplemented by other materials.
All students will be registered for the OCR Asset language (Breakthrough) award in listening to and understanding French at Beginners' level. This short test will take place within the normal classroom environment.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the 10 week course you will have been given the opportunity to:
· Describe your flat/house
· Talk about your hobbies
· Make an appointment at the Doctor's
· Buy presents
· Talk about jobs and training
· Describe the weather
· Learn about holidays in France
· Learn new points of grammar, including present perfect, imperfect and future tenses, object pronouns and relative pronouns
· Obtain through assessment, a nationally recognised qualification in listening at Beginners level.
Your Tutor
Alison Rudd has a degree in French and German Literature and a Masters Degree in Politics. She also works as a French tutor at the Open University and for ActionAid.
Day and time: Monday 7-9pm

Tuition fees: GBP 90
Method of payment: Fees for short courses (10 weeks or less) to be paid in full at enrolment and for long courses (12 weeks or more) fees of 50% can be paid at enrolment plus 50% as a cheque. Course places cannot be reserved without receipt of both payments.
Half term:
Please note that there are no classes during half term Monday 15th - Friday 19th February 2010 unless otherwise stated.
