About this course

This is an ideal study abroad programme for students wishing to validate their studies at their home university or institution.

The Eurolingua French Hotel Programme is ideal for Hotel Management Students, and others interested in hospitality and tourism, wishing to spend 4 to 6 months in the South of France to improve their French language skills within the hotel industry.

Spoken French at intermediate level (B2 on the European scale) and an interest in the Hotel Management, Hospitality and Tourism sector.

An hôtel internship in France combined with formal French lessons at our language school in Montpellier.

We will respond to you initially by email with further information and may wish to request more information from you. A member of our French staff may wish to speak with you by telephone to determine your current French speaking level (your French level is important to Hotel Managers in order to decide in which department to offer you an internship/stage. For example, work in "Reception" requires a good command of spoken French (B2/C1). Other departments such as "Housekeeping", "Kitchen", "Maintenance" etc, may require only A2/B1 level as a starting point.

Course programme

An intensive French language course for 1, 2 or 4 weeks, adapted to the needs of students who are studying hospitality and tourism in their home country and who seek to validate their studies by a attending a French in France course, following by work experience in a French hotel.

Students will learn 'French for Hotel Work' (français de l'hôtellerie) for 15 hours per week, 09h00 to 12h00, Monday to Friday. Students attend the French programme at the school in Montpellier for one, two or four weeks, according to their assessed level of spoken French before starting the programme.

The Eurolingua French Hotel Programme enables students attending recognised institutions in their own country to come to France, boost their French language skills to a level acceptable by Hotel Directors, and then participate in a French hotel work experience/internship in accordance with French law and regulations.

To comply with French immigration law, students must be enrolled on a minimum 2-week recognised French course at our Montpellier school.
