A2 LawCourse Outline
The A2 requires an in depth study of Contract and Consumer law. Students will study the essential requirements of a contract and the factors which can affect it. The knowledge gained will be of practical use to them as consumers.

Entry requirements
Normally students will be required to have successfully completed the AS Law. However, if studying over one year, students can study the A2 at the same time as the AS.

What will I study?
You will study the following topics: The law of Contract; Consumers rights against the seller and manufacturer for defective goods & services; Criminal liability for false descriptions, misleading prices &unsafe goods; The Office of Fair Trading; Travel & Holidays and Consumer Credit.

How will I be assessed?
Assessment is by three examinations, which can be taken in June each year. There is no coursework.

Career Opportunities & Progression
Employment in the police force, CPS, probation service, local government, civil service, insurance, banking, consumer advice, social work, retailing etc. A level Law is suitable for students applying for Higher Education courses in Law, Social Sciences.
