Course description
This full-time vocational course enables you to gain the knowledge, skills and qualifications required for a career in Accountancy. Classes take place 3 days a week between 9.15am and 2.45pm for the foundation course and 4 days a week between 9.15am and 2.45pm for the Intermediate course. This makes it suitable for both post-GCSE students wishing to gain a vocational qualification before starting work and mature students wishing to change career or gain qualifications before returning to work. Students start on the foundation level in September and, on successful completion, continue on to the intemediate level in January.
Intermediate Level: January â€" July (4 days per week 9.15am to 2.45pm). Maintaining financial records and preparing accounts, recording and evaluating costs and revenues, preparing reports and returns, including VAT, and using information technology, including Excel spreadsheets.
Final award
Students compile a portfolio of evidence for assessment throughout the course using workplace evidence or AAT simulations. In June students take two exams in Maintaining Financial Records and Recording and Evaluating Costs and Revenues which are set and marked by the AAT. On successful completion of the course a NVQ3 Accounting certificate will be awarded by the AAT.

Homework will be set each week - the amount of time this will take will vary depending on your ability, previous knowledge and speed of working. On average 5 hours hours per week should be allowed for this.
*Students aged 16-18 will not be required to pay the full course fee, in most cases your fee will not exceed £150. Please contact us if you need more information regarding fees for full-time courses.
