WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?
This course provides an introduction to Basic Health, Social and Early Years Care.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?
You will study six mandatory units, these are as follows:

Working as a team in health & social care
Investigating health & social care provision
Introducing practical caring
Investigating options for work in health & social care
Communication skills in health & social care
Problem solving in health & social care

Plus 6 optional units to make a total of 12 units:

Skills for babysitting
Creative play for pre-school children
Preparing to care for babies
Dealing with minor accidents in care settings
Planning and preparing a meal for a service user
Promoting healthy lifestyles

The College is committed to you studying for national qualifications in Maths, English and ICT within your vocational course. This will help you get the most out of your work, education and everyday life.

WHAT ARE MY COMMITMENTS?
You will need to attend classes for approximately 18 hours per week. You will also need to spend 4-6 hours a week on coursework.

WHAT WILL I ACHIEVE?
You will Achieve a Level 1 National Certificate in Health and Social Care.

You will also complete a programme of Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT. These Functional Skills are an essential requirement for employment progression, higher education and other further education courses.

4f110-09 Course fees 0 16-18 year olds, 500(51) 19 years and over
