An advanced course suitable for those with at least 5 GCSEs at grades A-C or a relevant level 2 qualification such as BTEC First Diploma, GNVQ Intermediate, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent/relevant work experience. Applicants with no formal qualifications who demonstrate appropriate work or life experience will be considered following a guidance interview.

· Course Overview: · This is a one year full time course aimed at mature learners (l9+). The Course is designed for those who wish to progress to Higher Education and leads to an Access to Higher Education qualification at level 3. It contains core elements such as: Research, IT, Mathematics and Academic Writing. Vocational units offered may include Values, Diversity and Rights, Body Systems (1), Body Systems (2), Health Care Communications, Health Care Environment, Health Promotion Issues. Students will be expected to attend 30 hours of work placement experience as part of the course. Number of weeks 35 full time and 70 part time over 2 years.
