Qualification: BTEC First Diploma

Description:
This is a practical course that will teach you basic animal care skills and will help you to find employment or move onto higher qualifications. A BTEC First Diploma is equivalent to four GCSEs at grades A* to C.

You will study three core units:
· animal care work experience
· industry and organisations
· animal accommodation, handling and care
You will also study three specialist units:
· introduction to animal and plant biology
· animal health, welfare and behaviour
· animal nursing

Progression:
A related National Diploma course, or you can find employment working with animals.

Entry Requirements:
4 GCSEs at grade D or E, or introductory Diploma.
