Our first diploma offers an exciting range of modules to whet your appetite and there is something for everyone! You will learn underpinning knowledge about general animal care and be introduced to animal biology but may choose to specialise in animal nursing, care of exotic animals or horse care! An NVQ 2 in Animal Care. Alternatively 4 GCSEs where 3 are D grade or above (including science) and 1 C grade and a genuine interest in working with animals seen through previous work experience. You will also need to attend a formal interview and pass an initial assessment to a minimum of level 1/2

Our first diploma offers an exciting range of modules to whet your appetite and there is something for everyone! You will learn underpinning knowledge about general animal care and be introduced to animal biology but may choose to specialise in animal nursing, care of exotic animals or horse care! As with all our courses, you will also develop excellent practical skills at our own Animal Centre in addition to a weekly voluntary work placement of your own choosing to run alongside your course, together with a series of block placements. At the end of your First Diploma course you will graduate with all the essential skills to become an asset to your chosen animal care job or you might prefer to stay and upgrade your qualifications to National Diploma level* *subject to overall grade.
