This two year, full time, course covers all aspects of animal welfare and management and will consist of classroom tuition, along with periods of work experience. It is ideal for those looking to begin a career working with animals or those looking to undertake a more advanced animal care qualification.

You will be studying the following units: Animal Nutrition * Animal Health * Animal Science * Behaviour and Training * Handling and Safe Working * Housing * Animals in Society * Business and Research * Wildlife * Exotics * Zoo Animals. Course content may be subject to change. Key Skills may be taken at an appropriate level in Application of Number, Communication, Information Technology, Working with Others, Improving Own Learning and Performance and Problem Solving.

How will you be assessed
Students will take written examinations consisting of short answer questions, practical assessments and written assignments.

What can you do after course
This course will help you develop the skills needed to work with animals here in the UK and aboard. Your qualification will also provide you with the opportunity to further your study at university.

Additional information
Fees are incurred by students over the age of 19. Key Skills/ Functional Skills - you will be expected to undertake these at the appropriate level. Visits will be made to other animal establishments to extend experience and practice. Transport - students will be expected to be able to make their own way to Wood Green Animal Shelter in Godmanchester. What can
