Aim of course
The course aims to give students the appropriate theoretical knowledge and practical skills to work with animals in a managerial or supervisory role. A significant element of the course involves students attending a work experience placement on 1 day per week to develop work based skills.
What will the course involve?
The course is assessed throughout using course work, studying a variety of units including: animal behaviour, animal health and nutrition, aquatics management, wildlife rehabilitation, anatomy and physiology, principles of ecology, farm livestock management and animal nursing.
What can I do afterwards?
This programme is designed for those looking at a career in the animal industry as a supervisor or manager. Alternatively students can progress onto the Foundation Degree in Animal Management at University Campus Suffolk Otley.
